NFTALK – TWITTER POST #1
· Do you consider yourself a collector or a consumer? When it comes to NFTs I personally struggle with the ability to let go of one of my precious works of art. I find myself to be more of an appreciator and collector of NFT works of art than a flipper out to make a profit.
· Admittedly I am slightly jealous seeing my friends and fellow NFT enthusiasts making huge profits buying and reselling NFTs.
· I got into collecting NFTs through @niftygateway. I got in on a few really cool early drops. For example, this Louis Vuitton edition of 7 by @_camhicks. image
· I sold this on June 16th 2021 for $404.00. I did a quick check on @niftygateway marketplace today; the floor price is now listed at $24,990.00. Oops.
· I’m laughing at myself even as I write this. Even with a gross profit of $24586.00 I still don’t think I would sell it today
· Another regrettable sale I made in May of 2021 was that of @brendandawes Satellites: Ignition Sequence Start, I sold for $2,199.00. Today’s floor price is $11,888.00. So I’m an idiot, basically, right?
· Besides the obvious monetary losses, the biggest loss in my eyes is the resulting exclusion from future collections dropped by some artists exclusively to their current NFT holders. For example, I missed out on an @brendandawes drop just this week! Total noob mistake.
· I owned 3 NFTs that I just gave away to the most wonderful, amazing and patient woman I have ever known. ( She’s also my fiancé, the one typing this and has complete autonomy over my posts.) However, this decision sparked another’s interest and helped in launching another collector’s career. @emmbfit21 is my editor and handler.
· How do you see yourself? Are you in the NFT space for the money, for the art, for the collectables, or the clout? Is this all just a fad, or are NFTs here to stay, paving the future of digital art? Emma and I are here posing these questions and more.
· Stay tuned for future blog posts as well as an upcoming vlog to help educate the public on just what exactly NFTs are and what the future holds for them, and the people investing in them.
